Next Up: Introductory class for new chapter members. This is s free Intro and Orientation to Ikebana and Chapter 182 - May 2, 10-12 at the GCCB. Details Below.

We hold classes in 3 different formats. The easiest to arrange is a group presntation, a demonstration of the aesthetics and technique inherant in ikebana shown in the construction of several arrangements. This is usually given at your site. This presentation can range from an "Intro to Ikebana" to interested groups (e.g. garden clubs, civic groups etc.) to a targeted demonstration showcasing the creativity and innovation in advanced aspects of the Sogetsu School (Ikebana chapters and Sogetsu study groups). The second format is a presentation in conjunction with a workshop where the audience makes their own ikebana. The 3rd format, the most usual one, is a ongoing individual class for students of the Sogetsu School who are looking to have tailored instruction to advance their skills and to gain certification in the school.

Home classes are for individuals looking to advance their capabilities and certifications in the Sogetsu School. These classes are held at our Castle Road house in Columbia SC and will tailor instruction to each attendee. Hence, class size is limited to 1-4 individuals typically for 2+ hours. Intro to ikebana on-site demonstrations and workshops

We are available to give demonstrations and worlshops at your location. These can range from a 1 hour "Intro to Ikebana" demonstration to a combined Intro demonstration with a workshop where audience members can make their own. Materials (flowers, branch and line material) and all the necessary tools, containers etc can be provided at additional cost. We are available to give demonstrations and worlshops exhibiting the range of innovation and creativity inherant in the Sogetsu School. These are suitable to the advanced requirements of ikebana chapters and study groups . This aspect of our presentations reflect our combined decades of ikebana study up to instruction from the Sogetsu School Headmaster, Akane Teshigahara in Tokyo. We have also exhibited internationally, most recently at the Ikebana International World Convention in Kyoto and are well acquainted with the latest developments in the art of ikebana.
